You can Choose the Way

What is ethical? What should be considered right and what wrong? Is there any recipe to make us morally good persons?
I believe a solution would be to foster the habit of thinking, and reflect about our actions, attitudes, ways, and every other aspect that helps us
build a personality.
We could start by learning to know ourselves better. Look into our hearts (taking our time) and evaluate if we like who we are. What do I like about myself? and What would I like to get rid of? What can I improve?!

TRUST YOUSELF. BE CONFIDENT.
TRUST YOUR INTELLIGENCE, IT WILL HELP YOU BE BETTER THAN YOU ALREADY ARE.
TRUST YOUR HEART AND YOU WILL FIND GOOD COMPANY.
YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT IF YOU PUT YOUR HEART IN IT.

Pame, I loved your solution! I also think if we all stopped to reflect upon our own actions, this world would be a much better place.

How can school contribute to such a solution, Pamela? What can you as a teacher(-to-be) do to help?

This course will give us plenty of opportunities to discuss such issues... It'll be a pleasure to hear your voice getting stronger!

Just one question: on the wole, do you feel your teachers have tended to empower you, or threatened your confidence?

Just a "present" to share with you: Sting singing "Be yourself, no matter what they say"...

Enjoy!

Fondly,
Gladys

How can school help...? It's not just the school but the society as a whole. The school plays a fundamental and highly important role (but it is also very important the 1ºschool = the family; the adult memebers of the society; the pairs, etc.)
As teachers (or common persons), I think the best way to teach or transmit these values is through the experience and the example. As adults we have an advantage on kids, we already live many experiences. Besides we can get kids in thinking what they consider is correct or not with examples from everyday life; situations the might face in the future.
Finally answering to your last question, I don't consider this as a matter of confidence but as a matter of self-improvement, that was what I mean. Of course it is related to confidence, if not I could not evaluate myself (but just to 'rethink' about...)

See you,
Pame

P/S: "I'm a legal alien" as many others trying to build a better world. I'm myself no matter what they say. =P

Oops! Here'a the link to Sting's video clip... :-P
Anyway, if you're a legal alien because you work to make this world a better place, I just hope such aliens soon take our world over!

Not sure I've understood your answer about how teachers have contributed to your self-confidence, but never mind!

Warmly,
Gladys
